Fall 2016: Photography
Windswept is a manually composed project that explores the juxtaposition of the human in the city and nature. The image was created using a film camera and combined three different darkroom development processes: masking, embossing, and burning. Film photography as a whole forces you to be very deliberate in your actions. This project took that a step further by making me carefully plan out the composition, set up, photography, and post-production processes required to make the image come together. It was challenging and mind-boggling but it helped me find a new level of intentionality in my design work.
